New York-based AMS Renewable Energy strengthens its position in the distributed solar market with the strategic acquisition of Collective Solar.
In a significant move to scale its operations, AMS Renewable Energy, a leading distributed solar and storage engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm based in New York City, has acquired Collective Solar, a prominent solar construction company from Oswego, New York. This acquisition allows AMS to enhance its in-house capabilities and address its growing pipeline of renewable energy projects across the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.
Expanding Capabilities with 160 MW of Experience
Collective Solar brings over 160 MW of solar construction experience to AMS, along with a skilled team and extensive project expertise. This acquisition equips AMS with the resources to scale its operations in key areas such as design, engineering, logistics, procurement, and construction services. With these expanded capabilities, AMS is positioned to deliver high-performing solar projects more efficiently and pursue growth opportunities nationwide.
CEO Abu Riaz on the Acquisition
“We are thrilled to welcome Collective Solar into the AMS family,” said Abu Riaz, CEO of AMS Renewable Energy. “Their strong track record in solar construction and their commitment to creating long-term value for their clients align perfectly with our mission. This acquisition will enable us to accelerate the deployment of high-performing renewable energy projects across the region and bring us closer to achieving our goal of a cleaner energy, and more sustainable future.”
Strengthening AMS’s National Footprint
By bringing Collective Solar’s civil and electrical scope in-house, AMS will significantly improve operational efficiency across its projects, enhancing its capacity to meet the demands of its Independent Power Producer (IPP) clients. Additionally, this acquisition bolsters AMS’s competitive position among other vertically integrated solar EPCs in the industry, further solidifying its role as a national player in the distributed solar market.
