Avaada Group begins work on its ₹13,650 crore integrated solar plant in Nagpur, set to revolutionize India’s renewable energy landscape. The project will generate 5,000 jobs and boost solar energy production.
Avaada Electro Private Limited, part of the Avaada Group, has officially laid the foundation stone for its integrated solar plant in Butibori MIDC, Nagpur. With a substantial investment of ₹13,650 crore, this project aims to be a cornerstone of India’s renewable energy journey, creating 5,000 direct jobs and pushing the boundaries of solar technology.
A Visionary ‘Make in India’ Project Paving the Way for Renewable Energy
The project, which encompasses the entire solar value chain—Solar Ingot, Wafer, Cell, Module, and Electrolyser Manufacturing—promises to revolutionize India’s renewable energy landscape. Designed to maximize efficiency and performance, the plant will be equipped with the latest technology and backed by globally recognized certifications such as IEC, UL, and BIS, and listed on the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
The state-of-the-art facility in the Addl Butibori Industrial Area of Nagpur is being lauded as a significant step towards realizing India’s energy independence. Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, who laid the foundation stone, praised the initiative as part of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, emphasizing that this project represents a major leap towards sustainable development.
Vineet Mittal’s Vision Drives Green Energy Revolution
In his speech, Fadnavis commended Avaada Group’s Chairman, Vineet Mittal, for his visionary leadership. “Vineet Mittal is not only an entrepreneur but also a forward-thinker, who always puts India first. His efforts were instrumental in shaping Maharashtra’s green hydrogen and green ammonia policy, which has attracted significant investment into the state. The equipment for India’s new energy revolution will be manufactured right here,” said Fadnavis.
The massive investment of ₹13,650 crore is expected to solidify Maharashtra’s standing as a green energy hub and bolster India’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Maharashtra’s Leadership in Solar Energy Growth
Fadnavis highlighted Maharashtra’s leadership in solar energy generation, revealing that the state has already initiated work on 12,000 MW of solar projects, with an additional 4,000 MW in progress. “In just two and a half years, we have approved nearly 20,000 MW of solar energy projects. Since independence, India has produced 40,000 MW of electricity, and in the last year alone, we’ve launched a 55,000 MW pump storage project along with a 20,000 MW wind and solar project,” he noted.
Sustainable Manufacturing and Future Prospects
The integrated solar plant will play a crucial role in achieving India’s renewable energy goals by producing green energy solutions that are critical for reducing carbon emissions. The manufacturing facility will also focus on electrolyser technology for green hydrogen production, making it one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in the country.
