On November 11, 2024, Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC), a premier renewable energy developer in the Philippines, and Trinasolar, a global leader in PV technology, solidified their partnership with a historic agreement. The deal, valued as the largest collaboration between the two companies to date, will see the supply of 2 gigawatts (GW) of advanced solar modules.

This monumental step aligns with CREC’s mission to achieve 5GW of renewable energy capacity within five years, while bolstering the Philippine government’s renewable energy initiatives under the Green Energy Auction Program.

A Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Growth

The contract was signed in a ceremonial event held in Manila, attended by notable executives including Oliver Tan, CREC President and CEO, and Helena Li, Executive President of Trinasolar.

Tan emphasized the partnership’s importance, stating:

“With our first gigawatt nearing completion, this new contract with Trinasolar paves the way for our next two gigawatts of solar projects. This partnership reinforces our commitment to a First-World Philippines powered by clean, renewable energy.”

Li echoed his vision, highlighting the shared commitment to sustainable progress:

“This 2GW contract reflects the trust and common goals between Trinasolar and Citicore. Together, we’re setting new benchmarks for sustainable progress in the region.”

Advanced Solar Technology for Large-Scale Energy Needs

At the heart of this collaboration is Trinasolar’s Vertex N 720W Series (NEG21C.20) solar modules, which leverage:

  • 210mm platform and n-type i-TOPCon Advanced cell technology for enhanced efficiency.

  • Higher energy yields and long-term reliability to optimize the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).

These cutting-edge features are critical for CREC’s large-scale solar energy plans, ensuring cost-effective and reliable renewable energy solutions.

Supporting the Philippines' Green Energy Transition

This partnership is a testament to the country’s ongoing shift toward sustainable energy. By leveraging Trinasolar’s technological expertise and CREC’s leadership in the solar market, the collaboration is poised to accelerate renewable energy adoption and contribute to the Philippines' green energy targets.

CREC’s commitment to clean energy supports the Philippine government’s long-term vision of a clean, green, and sustainable future, positioning the country as a renewable energy leader in the region.
