EliTe Solar's Groundbreaking 5 GW Solar Manufacturing Hub in Egypt to Revolutionize Solar Energy in MENA Region

EliTe Solar, a global leader in renewable energy, has commenced the construction of its ambitious 5GW solar manufacturing facility in the Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone. This project signifies a transformative milestone in the company’s global strategy and reinforces Egypt’s position as a key player in the Middle East and North Africa's (MENA) solar industry.

Advanced Solar Technology Meets Local Manufacturing

Spanning an impressive 78,000 square meters, the facility is set to include production lines for 2GW of solar cells and 3GW of solar modules. Operations are expected to commence by September 2025. This initiative is poised to elevate Egypt's solar manufacturing standards, bolstered by EliTe Solar’s cutting-edge technologies and expertise.

Waleid Gamal Eldien, Chairman of the Egypt Special Economic Zone Authority, expressed optimism about the project, stating, "By introducing advanced solar manufacturing technologies and optimizing local supply chains, this initiative will raise Egypt's overall manufacturing standards and global standing in the solar power industry."

Driving Renewable Energy and Economic Growth

The new facility aligns perfectly with Egypt’s 2030 renewable energy vision of achieving 42% clean energy transformation. It will produce 500 million kWh annually, offset carbon emissions equivalent to planting 84 million trees, and save 307 million tons of standard coal.

This project not only addresses Egypt’s recent energy shortages and the urgent need for energy diversification but also boosts local economic momentum by creating jobs and enhancing export capabilities.
