Enagás and partners launch the Call for Interest for H2Med, Europe’s green hydrogen corridor linking Spain, Portugal, France, and Germany, aiming to supply renewable hydrogen by 2030.
Enagás, along with its partners from Portugal, France, and Germany, is preparing to gauge market demand for H2Med, the future green hydrogen corridor that will connect southern and central Europe. The "Call for Interest" process will begin on November 7th, allowing companies to express their potential use for this mega infrastructure.
Collaboration Across Europe for a Hydrogen Future
The operators involved in the project, including Enagás (Spain), REN (Portugal), Teréga and GRTgaz (France), and OGE (Germany), aim to identify projects with confirmed hydrogen production, consumption, and marketing volumes. This preliminary consultation will help determine demand, with the information being used to inform the corridor’s detailed engineering and design.
Preparing for a Renewable Hydrogen Market by 2030
The H2Med project is a critical piece in Europe’s plan to deliver renewable and affordable hydrogen across the continent by 2030. Spain alone anticipates having up to 12 GW of electrolyzer capacity by this time, contributing significantly to the supply. The Call for Interest will assist the project leaders in aligning infrastructure with market needs, paving the way for Europe's green energy future.
