Envision Energy India has announced the launch of its latest wind energy innovation, the EN 182/5MW onshore platform, at WindEnergy Hamburg 2024. This advanced platform is set to increase annual energy output (AEP) by over 40 percent compared to the company’s previous EN 156/3.3MW platform, marking a significant leap in India’s wind energy landscape.

Enhanced Performance and Technological Upgrades

The EN 182/5MW platform boasts a larger swept area and improved turbine operational capabilities, allowing it to function efficiently in ambient temperatures up to 50°C and ensuring 98 percent machine uptime, even in high-wind conditions. These technological upgrades position the platform as one of the most advanced in the Indian market. Envision has also integrated advanced fire and smoke detection features, further improving safety standards.

The company has initiated research and development for the platform, aiming to start deliveries by Q1 2026. In a continued effort to strengthen the local supply chain, Envision is increasing the localization of the platform’s components to 75 percent, up from the 60 percent in its previous EN 156/3.3MW model.

Envision’s Commitment to India’s Renewable Energy Sector

Speaking on the new platform, RPV Prasad, Managing Director of Envision Energy India, said, "We are proud to introduce the 5MW onshore platform, which offers higher energy output and advanced features for our customers. The technological leap will transform India's wind energy regime and catapult us to deliver highly efficient and superior machines."

Kane Xu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy and Chairman of Envision Energy India, added, "This new 5MW platform is a testament to our long-term commitment to offering superior technology solutions for customers in solving the challenges for a sustainable future."

Envision’s Strong Presence in India

Envision Energy entered the Indian market in 2017, and the company’s earlier platform, EN 156/3.3MW, has been widely adopted across six states, with strong customer backing from 21 independent power producers (IPPs). With an investment of INR 500 crore, Envision Energy has established itself as a key player in India's wind energy sector, creating over 2,500 direct and indirect jobs and setting up a 3 GW annual manufacturing capacity. Its state-of-the-art facilities for Nacelle and Hub in Pune, and for blades in Trichy, underscore Envision’s dedication to advancing renewable energy solutions in India.
