Gentari Secures 400 MW Contract in India’s 1.2 GW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power

In a landmark development for India’s renewable energy sector, Gentari, along with Juniper, Enfinity, and Sunsure, has won a contract in a 1.2 GW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project tender. This tender was floated by SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam), underscoring India’s commitment to clean energy expansion. Gentari emerged with a 400 MW share at a competitive tariff rate of ₹3.19 per kWh, backed by a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Gentari’s 400 MW Stake and India’s Renewable Energy Goals

SJVN’s role as an intermediary procurer in this project facilitates the distribution of power across the country, addressing the growing demand for renewable energy. The 25-year PPA agreement ensures long-term stability for power off-takers, offering reliable and cost-effective access to hybrid energy solutions nationwide. SJVN’s selection of tried-and-tested technologies also enhances project reliability and reduces commissioning risks.

Advancing Sustainable Power Through Hybrid Wind-Solar Projects

This contract marks a major milestone for India’s green energy landscape, combining the benefits of wind and solar power to create a resilient energy supply. The integration of both energy sources enables round-the-clock power generation, supporting India’s push for a diversified, sustainable energy matrix. The project aligns with India’s renewable energy goals, which aim to achieve 500 GW of installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030.

Gentari’s Role in a Cleaner, Greener Future

With a 400 MW share, Gentari will significantly contribute to India’s clean energy grid, paving the way for other players in the energy sector. As one of the project’s key winners, Gentari continues to drive progress in renewable energy, contributing to a greener and cleaner future.
