Huasun Energy and ITRAMAS partner to develop 1.5 GW photovoltaic projects in Malaysia, supplying advanced 700W+ HJT solar modules starting in 2025, boosting Malaysia's solar energy infrastructure and the broader ASEAN market.
In a significant step toward advancing Malaysia’s renewable energy infrastructure, Huasun Energy has officially announced a strategic partnership with ITRAMAS Corporation Sdn. Bhd. to develop 1.5 GW of photovoltaic projects. As part of the collaboration, Huasun Energy will begin supplying 700W+ high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) modules in 2025, setting the stage for large-scale solar developments across Malaysia and the broader ASEAN region.
Partnership Details: Huasun Energy and ITRAMAS Collaboration
Under this landmark agreement, Huasun Energy will gradually provide ITRAMAS with cutting-edge HJT solar modules, known for their high efficiency and advanced technology. The use of 700W+ HJT modules will not only increase the energy yield of solar installations but also optimize land use for larger-scale solar farms. This collaboration is a game-changer for Malaysia’s solar supply chain, as it introduces heterojunction technology to the region, enhancing solar power generation and sustainability efforts.
By adopting HJT technology, which combines the benefits of crystalline silicon solar cells and thin-film technology, these projects will achieve better performance, particularly in Malaysia’s tropical climate. The increased energy efficiency from these modules is expected to significantly contribute to Malaysia’s renewable energy goals, pushing the country closer to its sustainable energy targets.
UEM Group’s Green Energy Push in Malaysia
This partnership between Huasun Energy and ITRAMAS follows the June 2024 agreement signed between UEM Lestra Berhad (a subsidiary of UEM Group Berhad), Blueleaf Energy, and ITRAMAS to develop a 500 MW hybrid solar power plant in Malaysia. This larger initiative, combined with the 1.5 GW photovoltaic projects under the new partnership, cements Malaysia’s position as a growing leader in the ASEAN region for clean energy development.
