ILIOS Power Wins 100 MW Solar EPC Contract from HPCL

Telangana-based solar developer ILIOS Power has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from HPCL Renewable & Green Energy for a 100 MW solar power project in Galiveedu, located in the Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh. This project, which spans approximately 500 acres within the Galiveedu Solar Park, aims to boost solar energy production in the region.

A Landmark Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh

The tender for this ambitious project was issued by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) in May 2024, with ILIOS Power emerging as the selected EPC contractor. The contract includes a lump-sum turnkey/EPC agreement at a fixed price, ensuring that the entire project will be executed within a set budget. Additionally, ILIOS Power will handle operations and maintenance (O&M) for the solar power plant for a period of five years, with the potential to extend this term for another five years.

Strict Guidelines and Timely Execution

The project is expected to be completed within 11 months from the issuance of the letter of acceptance, marking a fast-tracked timeline for such a large-scale development. The solar modules deployed for the project will comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), ensuring adherence to the latest industry standards.

ILIOS Power: A Leading Solar Project Developer

ILIOS Power has established a strong reputation in the solar industry, providing solar solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. The company also offers operations and maintenance services, further enhancing its capabilities in managing solar projects.

In 2021, ILIOS Power was recognized with the Best Engineered Project award at the Mercom India Solar Awards for its project completed for Kallam Textiles in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, which was commissioned in July 2020.

Previous Projects and Future Endeavors

In June 2023, ILIOS Power secured another major contract, winning an EPC and O&M agreement from Bharat Petroleum Corporation for 6.9 MW floating solar power projects in Kerala. This further cements the company's role as a key player in India's solar energy sector.

Meanwhile, HPCL Renewable & Green Energy, a subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum, continues to expand its footprint in the renewable energy sector. In May 2024, the company floated bids for an EPC package for 300 MW of interstate transmission system-connected solar power projects across multiple states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
