Infener partners with Gengenbach to create a 20 MW green hydrogen hub, advancing Germany's National Hydrogen Strategy with decentralized and sustainable energy solutions.
Infener has partnered with the City of Gengenbach to develop a 20 MW green hydrogen hub, expected to produce up to 2,000 tons of green hydrogen annually. This new facility will provide decentralized, climate-neutral, and cost-effective energy to the Ortenau district, contributing significantly to the region's clean energy goals. The hydrogen will be produced through water electrolysis, using renewable energy to support grid stability within the hydrogen hub.
Infener's Expanding Hydrogen Footprint Across Europe
Earlier this year, Infener began constructing additional green hydrogen hubs in Villingen-Schwenningen and Neumünster, with a broader goal of establishing decentralized hubs across Europe. These hubs are integral to the company’s efforts to contribute to Europe's growing hydrogen economy.
Supporting Germany’s National Hydrogen Strategy
Infener's projects align with the German government's National Hydrogen Strategy, which aims to achieve 10 GW of domestic electrolysis capacity by 2030. By developing decentralized hydrogen hubs, Infener is playing a key role in this ambitious plan to expand renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions across the country.
