JSW Solar-Wind Hybrid Project

JSW Neo Energy Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has been awarded a letter of award (LoA) by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to set up a 600 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. This includes an additional 400 MW capacity allocated under the green shoe option from MSEDCL – Phase IV, significantly advancing the company’s renewable energy portfolio.

Expanding Renewable Energy Capacity

With the latest project award, JSW Neo Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity has reached 18.2 GW, including 3.8 GW of hybrid capacity. This milestone reinforces JSW Neo Energy’s commitment to scaling up its renewable energy assets to support India’s clean energy transition.

Major Achievements in 2024

JSW Neo Energy has been steadily expanding its renewable capacity throughout 2024:

  • June 2024: The company secured a LoA from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for developing a 300 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid project.

  • April 2024: JSW Neo Energy was awarded a LoA from NTPC Limited to develop a 700 MW ISTS-connected solar capacity. This project is part of NTPC's competitive bid for setting up a total of 1,500 MW of solar power projects.

These projects not only demonstrate JSW Neo Energy’s leadership in the renewable energy sector but also highlight the company’s focus on building a robust clean energy infrastructure. The development of wind-solar hybrid projects enables efficient utilization of resources while ensuring grid stability, making it a key element of India’s future energy mix.
