Polenergia, Poland’s largest private energy group, has achieved a major milestone by successfully conducting the country’s first hydrogen co-combustion tests at its Nowa Sarzyna Cogeneration Plant (NSCP) in Podkarpacie. The tests exceeded expectations, achieving a 15% hydrogen share in the fuel mix, and signal a breakthrough in integrating hydrogen into Poland’s energy infrastructure.
In addition to this success, Polenergia secured a building permit for the H2HUB Nowa Sarzyna project, which includes a 5 MW electrolyzer designed to produce green hydrogen. The green hydrogen will be used for emission-free transport, greening of heat, and eventually, clean electricity generation.
Polenergia’s collaboration with industry partners and its focus on innovation highlight the company’s commitment to achieving zero emissions by 2040.
