Solex Energy is set to make a substantial investment of ₹8,000 crore to scale up its solar module manufacturing capacity from 1.5 GW to 15 GW as part of its ambitious Vision 2030 plan. This expansion will strengthen Solex Energy’s position as a key player in India's rapidly growing solar market.

Scaling Up for the Future

According to Chetan Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Solex Energy, the investment will primarily be funded through the equity market and supplemented by financial institutions. A significant part of the plan includes the development of a greenfield cell manufacturing facility with an initial capacity of 2 GW, which can be expanded to 5 GW. Solar cells are critical components in module production, and this facility will contribute to the company’s goal of becoming a fully integrated solar manufacturer.

Vision 2030 and the Growing Indian Solar Market

The Indian solar market is progressing rapidly, driven by government initiatives to ensure the availability of efficient, high-quality modules for widespread use. With the Vision 2030 plan, Solex Energy aims to support the country’s clean energy goals and strengthen domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.
