Sunkind Energy Pvt Ltd. New Manufacturing Plant

In a major boost to India’s renewable energy ambitions, Sunkind Energy is set to establish a state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing plant in Jaipur (Rural), Rajasthan. Facilitated by the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), the project underscores the state’s commitment to the ‘Make-in-India’ initiative and aims to strengthen domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.

Rapid Progress: From Land Acquisition to Manufacturing

The collaboration between Sunkind Energy and RIICO has progressed at an impressive pace. The first meeting took place on May 21, 2024, and just three months later, on August 29, 2024, Sunkind took possession of land in Matasula village, Jaipur (Rural). The entire bidding process, e-auction, and government documentation were completed swiftly, reflecting RIICO’s commitment to ease of doing business and advancing sustainability in Rajasthan.

Sunkind Energy, quick to act, performed the Bhoomi Pujan to kick-start the construction of the plant. Over ₹100 crore has been allocated for the solar module manufacturing facility, which is expected to be fully operational by April 2025. The plant will have a production capacity of 1.5 GW of solar energy, reinforcing India’s mission to become self-reliant in renewable energy production.

Sunkind's Role in Advancing Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Vision

Sunkind Energy’s plant aligns with the state’s broader vision under the Rising Rajasthan Summit 2024 initiative, which aims to promote local industrial growth and infrastructure development. The solar plant will also contribute significantly to the state’s socio-economic landscape by creating over 500 direct and indirect jobs, developing local infrastructure, and enhancing specialized skill sets in renewable energy.

Hanish Gupta, CEO of Sunkind Energy, expressed his gratitude to RIICO and its officials for their support in expediting the project’s establishment. He remarked, "This project will leave a lasting impact on the local community by generating employment and contributing to India’s Net Zero goals."
