Tata Power Renewable Energy Commissions One of India's Largest Solar Projects in Neemuch

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading force in India's renewable energy landscape, has successfully commissioned a massive 431 MW DC solar project in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. This milestone sets new standards for large-scale solar energy production and underscores TPREL's commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Spanning 1,635.63 acres, this is India's first solar project to integrate advanced single-axis trackers and bi-facial modules, enhancing overall efficiency by over 15%. This breakthrough technology ensures extended hours of peak power supply, establishing the project as a benchmark in India’s solar sector.

Overcoming Challenges with Innovation

Despite hurdles like rocky terrain, transmission line readiness, and logistics at a remote site, the project was completed seamlessly. The system meets Central Electricity Authority (CEA) compliance standards and employs advanced SCADA commissioning, harmonic filters, and a Static Var Generator (SVG) for optimal performance.

Strengthening India's Energy Infrastructure

The energy generated from the project will supply power to Western Central Railways and Madhya Pradesh Power Management Co. Ltd., strengthening regional infrastructure. It will also significantly contribute to India’s sustainability goals by offsetting 7,80,300 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Deepesh Nanda, CEO and Managing Director of TPREL, shared, "This project is a testament to our vision for a greener future, combining innovative technology and sustainable practices to enhance efficiency and reliability in India’s solar sector."

Madhya Pradesh: A Green Energy Hub

Manu Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh’s Renewable Energy Department, lauded the initiative, saying, "This project demonstrates the potential of cost-effective solar energy to drive India's green transition."

TPREL’s Growing Renewable Energy Footprint

With the Neemuch project, TPREL’s total renewable energy capacity now stands at an impressive 10.9 GW, including 5.5 GW under development. The company’s operational portfolio includes 4.4 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind energy projects, further solidifying its leadership in the renewable energy domain.
