Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd announces a ₹75,000 crore investment to reach 20 GW operational capacity by 2030, with plans for faster growth and a new 4.3 GW manufacturing facility.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Ltd, has pledged an investment of ₹75,000 crore to expand its operational capacity to 20 GW by 2030. Currently operating with 5 GW of capacity, the company has another 5 GW under construction, placing it on a rapid growth trajectory in India's renewable energy sector.

TPREL's Ambitious Growth Plans

Deepesh Nanda, President of TPREL, shared in an interview with PTI that the company is committed to scaling its renewable energy operations significantly in the coming years. "We have committed to take this number all the way to 20 GW operational capacity by 2030," Nanda said. He further highlighted that the company's aggressive investment strategy could allow them to achieve this goal ahead of schedule.

Tata Power's New Manufacturing Facility

To support its expansion, TPREL has recently commissioned a 4.3 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. This state-of-the-art facility is expected to play a critical role in Tata Power's ability to meet growing energy demands and solidify its position as a key player in India's renewable energy market.
